Airbnb’s $750 World Cup Bonus: How New Hosts Can Earn $3K+ This Summer

February 24, 2026

ICYMI: Airbnb just launched its biggest new host incentive program ever.

There's an insane amount of demand for the upcoming FIFA World Cup—an 80% increase in searches for host cities, to be exact.

That's why Airbnb is sweetening the deal for any potential new hosts who haven't listed their stays yet with a $750 bonus.

If you've been on the sidelines needing a push to turn that ADU into an Airbnb...

How does $750 sound?

Airbnb's New World Cup Bonus for New Hosts

Under the new program, any new host who lists an entire home in any of the 16 World Cup host cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico by July 31, 2026, will receive a $750 bonus.

That bonus sounds great.

But the potential earnings for hosts are even more enticing.

A Deloitte report estimates that hosts could earn an average of $3,000 if they list their space during the World Cup.

In some cities, that average climbs past $5,000.

But It's About More Than the Money

Starting short-term rentals means a lot more to people than a little extra income.

A study from Focal Data revealed:

▪️ 40% of hosts would use the income to clear debt

▪️ 35% would use it to cover living expenses

Beyond that, many hosts see it as an opportunity to share their cities and culture.

More than 49% of residents plan to share hidden gems, favorite restaurants, and off-the-beaten-path attractions with guests.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup isn't just a revenue opportunity.

It may be a chance to get back to that original 2008 spirit of Airbnb: connecting with people and experiencing new cultures.

Thinking of launching your own top performer before the June?
