Hospitable Launches "Tasks" to Streamline STR Cleaning and Staff Operations and Payments

Property management software Hospitable has launched Hospitable Tasks, a new feature that brings cleaning coordination, team communication, and payments into a single PMS platform.
The update lets hosts and property managers assign work to cleaners, maintenance techs, and other service providers—then track progress and pay them—all without leaving Hospitable.
It's the next step in Hospitable's push to become an all-in-one "super app" for short-term rental hosts—and a strong contender in the best property management system conversation.
How Hospitable Tasks Works
Before this, coordinating a cleaner often meant juggling text messages, emails, and separate payment apps. Instructions got lost. Follow-ups piled up. And when something went wrong, figuring out who dropped the ball meant digging through scattered conversations.
Hospitable Tasks replaces that chaos with a single workflow.
Here's how it works:
- Hosts create tasks for cleanings, turnovers, inspections, or maintenance
- Each task can include instructions, due dates, and custom checklists
- Teammates get notified and can update progress in real time—marking jobs as "on the way," "in progress," or "complete"
- All communication stays inside the platform, creating a time-stamped record
The result? Fewer missed cleanings, less back-and-forth, and a clear paper trail of what was done and when—handy for those Airbnb support claims when things go sideways.

The Payments Piece: Automated Payouts Built In
The launch also introduces optional automated payouts. Once a task is marked complete, payment can be triggered automatically, with a 24-hour review window before funds are released.
For hosts, that means no more chasing cleaners for invoices or manually processing payments. And service teams can get paid faster without chasing hosts.
Payment functionality is currently available for US-based properties. Hosts get one free payment per property each month; after that, payouts are processed at a 1.5% fee per clean, capped at $5. Processing fees are waived until May 1, 2026.
The Tasks app is offered in both English and Spanish.
Why This Matters: Staffing Is a Major Pain Point
This isn't just a nice-to-have feature. It's a direct response to a problem that's been eating hosts alive.
Recent Hospitable research found that 34.3% of hosts and property managers reported losing bookings or receiving negative reviews in 2025 due to staffing issues.
Cleaner reliability and operational consistency are now major factors in guest satisfaction—and revenue.
Pierre-Camille Hamana, CEO and Founder of Hospitable, put it simply:
"Hosts rely on people on the ground to deliver the guest experience, but too often that coordination happens across disconnected tools and informal communication channels."
Tasks aims to fix that by keeping everything—assignments, updates, and payments—in one place.

The Bigger Picture: Hospitable's Main Goal
The Tasks launch follows Hospitable's Cleaner Marketplace, which debuted in early 2025 to help hosts find vetted cleaners. While the marketplace focuses on sourcing help, Tasks focuses on managing the teams you already have.
"When we launched Cleaner Marketplace, we focused on helping hosts find reliable cleaners," Hamana said. "This is the next step. It completes the operational loop by bringing existing teams into the platform, so sourcing, coordination, accountability, and payment are no longer separate processes."
Earlier this year, Hospitable also launched an Owner and Property Manager Marketplace, designed to match STR owners with property managers based on performance data and financial alignment.
Together, these moves show a clear trajectory: Hospitable is building a full ecosystem for short-term rental operations, not just a messaging tool.
