You Can Take Airbnb to Arbitration Over a Review

July 29, 2026

Last week we walked through the 6 reasons Airbnb will remove a review, and sent you the free Dispute Kit to go with it. A lot of you downloaded it. Here's what we need to cover this week: what to do if you file a dispute and Airbnb denies it anyway.

The full blog breaks down the exact qualifying test and message template for each of the 6 categories individually, not just retaliation. The real addition is the escalation path. A first dispute getting auto-declined happens often. It doesn't mean you're out of options. Calling support and asking specifically for a supervisor is a real next step worth trying before giving up.

If it's still denied after that, there's a next step worth knowing about: as of this year, the American Arbitration Association is Airbnb's official dispute provider for US users, with fee caps that keep a claim viable for a single host.
