Airbnb Guests Are Getting Younger—and More Social

January 27, 2026

Airbnb guests are aging in reverse, {{contact.first_name}}.

Today, roughly 36% of Airbnb guests fall between the ages of 24 and 35, the largest demographic.

Another 23% are in the 35–44 range.

And that means the vast majority of Airbnb guests today grew up online.

They plan trips differently, discover stays differently, and choose experiences that look and feel share-worthy.

According to American Express, 80% of Gen Z travelers prefer using apps and social media when planning trips.

Guests are not leaving it up to the Airbnb feed anymore, and that makes social media one of the most powerful marketing tools for short-term rentals today.

But with social media constantly changing, how do you learn what's working right now?

You study the Airbnbs that are already winning.
You look at the listings guests can’t stop saving, sharing, and booking.

And conveniently, Airbnb recently released its most-loved listings on Instagram and TikTok. Check it out.

1. DC-6 Airplane House (Wasilla, Alaska)

In this insanely unique Airbnb, guests get to sleep inside a fully restored DC-6 cargo plane, cockpit included.

Why it works:
It’s pure novelty done right.

This stay delivers a once-in-a-lifetime experience while still offering comfort, privacy, and functionality with two bedrooms and a spacious living space.

2. Birch Falls Spa Cabin (Remsen, New York)

A secluded forest cabin that's all about romance and deep relaxation. It features a private spa room with an indoor waterfall, soaker tub, and massage space.

Why it works:
This cabin is proof that experience beats size.

A bold, sensory feature like the indoor waterfall is a straight-up booking magnet.

3. Come & Dream in Quetzalcoatl’s Nest (Mexico)

This 4-bedroom stay feels like a lucid dream. An architecture-forward stay designed to feel like you’re living inside a mythical creature woven into the landscape.

Why it works:
The definition of immersive. Guests aren’t just staying near nature—they're blending into it.

This kind of design-forward storytelling is exactly what experience-driven travelers crave. And it's built to go viral online.

4. Civico 65 Garda Holiday (Arco, Italy)

This one breaks the pattern. A minimalist luxury apartment near Lake Garda with mountain views, EV charging, and thoughtfully curated interiors.

Why it works:
Quiet luxury still wins.

No gimmicks, no flash—just comfort, convenience, and intentional design. Proof simplicity works when the fundamentals are executed flawlessly.
